About Our Client:The organization operates within the behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment sector, providing Withdrawal Management services. It addresses the challenges of managing accurate, timely, and compliant billing and revenue cycle processes within a complex healthcare environment governed by Minnesota DHS and payer requirements.About the Opportunity:The Billing & Revenue Cycle Specialist manages key revenue cycle activities for the Withdrawal Management program. This role ensures insurance verification, authorization processing, claims submission, payment posting, and follow-up activities are completed accurately and efficiently. The position directly supports the organization’s financial health by maximizing reimbursement, reducing denials, and maintaining compliance with applicable requirements.Responsibilities:• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to admission.• Manage initial, concurrent, and extension authorization requests.• Track authorization expirations and approved units to maintain appropriate coverage.• Submit, monitor, and reconcile insurance claims for Withdrawal Management services.• Resolve rejected, denied, and underpaid claims through corrections, follow-up, and appeals.• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.• Accurately post insurance payments, adjustments, and other account activity.• Audit claims for coding and documentation accuracy before submission.• Communicate with insurance payers regarding authorizations, claims, denials, and payments.• Collaborate with clinical staff to obtain required documentation for billing and claims.• Stay current on payer requirements, reimbursement guidelines, and applicable regulations.• Identify revenue cycle trends and recommend process improvements.• Participate in billing audits and support compliance with HIPAA and Minnesota DHS requirements.Requirements:• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.• Minimum 2 years of billing experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment.• Experience with Ritten or similar electronic health record and billing systems preferred.• Knowledge of Minnesota Medicaid (MHCP), commercial insurance billing, and DAANES reporting preferred.• Strong organizational and time-management skills.• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.• Ability to manage multiple billing and revenue cycle priorities effectively.Pay Range and Compensation Package:• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.Benefits & Perks:• 401(k) plan.• Dental insurance.• Health insurance.• Paid time off.• Flexible schedule..
