Billing Manager

About the role
The Billing Manager leads a billing team to ensure production is billed to customers accurately and on time according to contract guidelines. This role involves planning, analyzing, and improving billing operations to streamline processes across different projects.
Responsibilities
- Hire, lead, and oversee the billing team to ensure load leveling and timely completion.
- Work directly with management to present weekly work-in-progress reports and streamline billing and collections processes.
- Assist Area Managers with an overview of their revenues, WIP, accruals, and DSO.
- Review and resolve past-due accounts with customers and items needing special attention.
- Assist the accounting department with tracking and collecting accounts on the Aging Report weekly.
- Review and authorize change memos.
- Ensure weekly and month-end closings are completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings to discuss and implement new changes, billing planning, and personnel development.
- Manage multiple projects and contracts.
- Perform strategic planning and goal-setting for the billing department.
- Daily printing and distribution of labor material requisitions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of billing experience.
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in accounting or business.
- 4 or more years of billing experience.
- 2 or more years of supervisory experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. The role is primarily sedentary but may require some filing or lifting. Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
