Billing Coordinator - Employee Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Calculates premiums for health care, disability, life insurance and other benefit plans and prepares consolidated bills.
  • Processes client premium payments.
  • Performs client premium account and benefits database review and reconciliation.
  • Prepares monthly and other eligibility reports for distribution in hardcopy or electronic format as required.
  • Issues notification of qualifying events, processes COBRA elections, posts COBRA premiums, updates eligibility rosters, reports COBRA eligibility and premiums, and issues COBRA termination and conversion notices.
  • Assists in setup of new billing clients.
  • Provides input on methods and procedures for new assignments.
  • Provides support as immediate backup to Benefit Advocates.
  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business, with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in benefits administration or accounting.
  • Proven experience maintaining high level of accuracy while working with complex benefit administration or accounting details.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work on complex assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
