Responsibilities
- Calculates premiums for health care, disability, life insurance and other benefit plans and prepares consolidated bills.
- Processes client premium payments.
- Performs client premium account and benefits database review and reconciliation.
- Prepares monthly and other eligibility reports for distribution in hardcopy or electronic format as required.
- Issues notification of qualifying events, processes COBRA elections, posts COBRA premiums, updates eligibility rosters, reports COBRA eligibility and premiums, and issues COBRA termination and conversion notices.
- Assists in setup of new billing clients.
- Provides input on methods and procedures for new assignments.
- Provides support as immediate backup to Benefit Advocates.
- Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business, with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
- One (1) or more years of experience in benefits administration or accounting.
- Proven experience maintaining high level of accuracy while working with complex benefit administration or accounting details.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work on complex assignments where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
