About the role
The Billing Coordinator serves as a liaison between project teams and internal departments to resolve billing issues, maintain accurate financial records, and support overall accounting operations. The Billing Coordinator stays current on accounting practices, billing procedures, and industry standards while delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to the organization's financial success.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and distribute client invoices accurately and promptly.
- Verify and reconcile billing information to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all invoices.
- Maintain organized and accurate billing records, supporting documentation, and financial reports.
- Support reporting and analysis efforts by providing accurate and timely financial information.
- Ensure all billing activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
- Serve as a point of contact for billing inquiries.
- Provide timely, professional, and responsive support regarding invoices, payments, and account information.
- Partner with project teams, operations, and other departments to ensure accurate billing and financial reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive financial and client information.
- Assist with additional accounting and finance functions as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in billing, accounting, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred.
- Experience using billing and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and billing procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to respond professionally to inquiries.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training, recruiting events, or business needs.
