Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with firm policies and client billing guidelines
  • Review and audit pre-bills for errors, rate discrepancies, and narrative issues; coordinate corrections as needed
  • Maintain and update billing information, including rate schedules, client data, and billing instructions
  • Respond to billing inquiries and work with attorneys and staff to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with electronic billing submissions and resolve rejections or appeals as needed
  • Maintain organized billing records and supporting documentation
  • Support billing process improvements and special projects, as needed

Required Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2 to 5 years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience with Aderant Expert (Sierra) strongly preferred
  • Experience with e-billing platforms (e.g., Collaborati, TyMetrix, Legal Tracker) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for reviewing and managing billing data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presence, sound judgment, and a strong service-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Pay

The annual salary for this California-based role is anticipated to be in the range of $75,000 – $95,000, and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation is negotiable and will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications, and skill set.
