Billing Coordinator
Job Description
Provides administrative support by answering phones, receiving visitors, and directing requests for information. Handles data entry, demographic data verification, and patient registration. Schedules patients and assists professional staff with administrative tasks. Manages the retrieval and filing of medical records according to department standards. Ensures accurate entry of patient information into computer databases. Communicates and enforces collection and payment policies as appropriate. Maintains an organized work environment and provides excellent service to all customers. Corresponds with customers, patients, and vendors using defined formats and procedures via verbal, electronic, and written communications. Maintains records and files for the assigned area. Prepares, collates, and distributes various reports in a timely and accurate manner. Completes or handles recurring department projects or one-time projects as directed by the supervisor. Maintains supply inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
