Billing Clerk
Workplace Options is supporting Behavioral Health Systems (BHS) in recruiting a Billing Clerk. BHS operates one of the nation’s largest specialty preferred provider organizations (PPO), comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, EAP providers, and facility networks including hospitals, rehab/residential treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs. BHS fully credentials and panels its own network of providers.
About the role
Under the day-to-day supervision of the Director of Claims, this position assists in the daily and monthly activities of drug test processing, centralized billing, input of daily charges, clerical support, and other general duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data entry related to invoice processing, provider files, and related files and reports.
- Process third-party provider payments.
- Communicate with providers to request missing records and resolve inaccurate charges.
- Manage all incoming calls, faxes, and emails from providers regarding invoice status.
- Provide administrative support in the client month-end billing process.
- Assist in analysis of data generated, as directed.
- Maintain orderly and accurate files, records, and reports on a timely basis.
- Update and maintain computerized collection site and laboratory provider lists and related data.
- Perform general clerical, mail, marketing support, and other duties as directed.
- Reconcile and verify accuracy of all information entered and generated.
- Provide back-up support to the Director of Claims and Claims Analyst as directed.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Attend meetings as directed.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Proficiency with PC (Microsoft Word, Excel), 10-key calculator
- 11,000+ KPH typing speed
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good organization and communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle interruptions
- Cooperative attitude and self-starter mindset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
