Billing Associate

About the role

The Billing Associate role involves managing and invoicing customer accounts, including tasks such as invoice generation, data entry, billing verification, billing issue resolution, monthly reconciliation, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Generation: Preparing and generating accurate and timely invoices based upon contracts, volumetric information and utility/carrier parameters.
• Data Entry: Entering billing and payment information into the accounting or billing system with a high level of accuracy.
• Billing Verification: Reviewing invoices for correctness, completeness, and adherence to company policies and contractual agreements.
• Billing Issue Resolution: Investigating and resolving billing discrepancies, disputes, and billing-related problems promptly.
• Making Monthly Reconciliations: Performing monthly billing reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately reflected.
• Reporting: Preparing and generating periodic billing reports for management and other departments as required.
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree to include an Associate's in Accounting/Business or similar field
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude
• Advanced computer literacy with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to relate to customers, outside contacts and our associates
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Experience with management systems and billing systems
• Understanding of utility and carrier parameters
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
