Purpose
The Billing Analyst ensures timely and accurate billing and invoicing for a specified group of legal case files.
Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities
- Create invoices using Phoenix, a legal data management system.
- Review invoices for accuracy and verify pricing.
- Communicate with the Invoice Submission and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure invoice accuracy.
- Communicate with the Fees and Costs Quotes team to ensure accurate quotes are provided to clients.
- Resolve discrepancies through interaction with appropriate departments and clients.
- Create and maintain daily and monthly reports as requested by management.
- Respond timely to inquiries from internal and external clients.
- Assist management in research and balancing activities.
- Research refund requests received by clients.
- Ensure internal control procedures are followed.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or related field preferred, but not required.
- At least two years of work experience in Accounting, Billing and/or Accounts Receivable, preferred, but not required.
- Legal billing experience highly preferred.
- Billing experience with a law firm that has a high transaction volume highly preferred.
- Phoenix experience highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of real estate foreclosure and bankruptcy process.
