Billing Agent I

Overview

The Billing Agent I is responsible for managing the billing and invoicing processes within the billing department. This role supports internal and external customers with populating tickets, reporting, and analytic metrics. Additionally, this role processes invoices, bills customers, and handles all related customer invoicing/posting tasks. Ensuring timely and accurate invoices is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Generating invoices for products or services
• Ensuring invoices accurately reflect the quantity, price, and any applicable taxes or discounts
• Verifying payment details, reconciling accounts, and updating records to reflect payments received
• Operating and maintaining billing systems and software
• Entering and updating customer information, managing pricing structures, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data
• Handling customer inquiries related to billing discrepancies, payment issues, or general billing questions
• Resolving billing disputes and providing customer support
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED
• 1+ years experience in bookkeeping and accounting
• 1+ years experience in transportation and supply chain industry (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team setting, across multiple time zones and global geographies
• Ability to determine resources to meet and exceed company and customer expectations
• Ability to problem solve and be solution oriented
• Self-starter mentality and adaptability/flexibility
• Basic math skills, including bookkeeping and accounting
• Microsoft Office Excel experience, required
