Biller - Patient Accounting
Responsibilities
- Bills all insurance companies, workers’ compensation carriers, and HMO/PPO carriers.
- Audits patient accounts to ensure procedures and charges are coded accurately and corrects billing errors.
- Identifies stop loss claims, implants, and missing codes.
- Maintains proficiency in Medical Terminology.
- Follows up on insurance balances to ensure timely payment.
- Communicates clearly and efficiently by phone and in person with clients and staff members.
- Maintains productivity standards and reports.
- Obtains updated demographic information and necessary information to comply with insurance billing requirements.
- Operates computer to input follow-up notes and retrieve collection and patient information.
- Writes effective appeals to insurance companies.
- Knowledge of multiple insurance billing requirements and 1-2 years of billing experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines, and solve problems.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $23.00 to $26.25.
