Bill of Materials Specialist
About the role
This role is part of the Engineering organization and collaborates closely with Services, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, and other internal Wabtec teams to help execute the organization’s vision and strategy aligned with the Wabtec Transportation Services Philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Support strategies that enable efficient maintenance and repair operations for Wabtec’s railroad, mining, and OHV products.
- Work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment to help define and maintain Bills of Materials within Teamcenter, for both new and existing products.
- Help define and maintain Bills of Materials within Teamcenter, for both new and existing products.
- Support locomotive, mining and OHV maintainability by enabling the creation and maintenance of accurate parts bulletins and catalogs used by field service teams.
- Play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, governance, compliance, and operational readiness while supporting continuous improvement across service operations.
Requirements
- Achieve a minimum of an Associate's Degree in a technical or business-related field, or have a minimum of 5 years' experience in renewal parts provisioning or a technical publishing environment.
- Proficiency in BOM management concepts and related IT tools, with knowledge of Oracle ERP preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to manage large, complex datasets.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and locomotive lists, drilling down from top-level assemblies to individual components.
- Experience with Parts Catalogs, Wabtec SBOM, and cross-functional collaboration with Materials, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Field Service.
- Familiarity with PLM systems and configuration management tools (e.g., Teamcenter).
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills for reporting, analysis, and data governance.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and technical documentation support.
