Bilingual Telehealth Clinical Assistant

About the role

The West Valley Clinic of Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) is seeking a full-time (40 hours/wk) Bilingual Telehealth Clinical Assistant, eligible for full benefits. The position provides direct-to-consumer telehealth services to patients throughout Utah.

Job Duties

• Conduct patient intake, verify consent forms, and schedule virtual telehealth appointments.
• Provide clear, non-directive education on all birth control methods, pregnancy options, and medication/surgical abortion care.
• Manage electronic medical records, update patient charts, and log lab results accurately.
• Support clinicians in maintaining smooth, efficient virtual patient visit workflows.
• Absorb and relay patient concerns, ensuring they feel heard and supported.
• Aid patients with remote payment collection and answer billing, scheduling, or care inquiries.
• Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines, state reporting laws, and PPAU medical standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical setting or extensive customer service experience; OR 2 years of experience combined with post-high school education/certification in a medical, health, gender studies, social work, family planning, or related field.
• Yearly influenza vaccination required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish ability is required.

Qualifications

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.43. Upon passing the Spanish proficiency exam, your hourly pay will increase by $1.00 to reflect this essential contribution.
