Bilingual Spanish BH Administrative Assistant
Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Services Administrative Assistant organizes the exchange of health information, treatment planning, discharge planning, appointments, evaluations, psychiatric consents, referrals, and documentation related to the behavioral health services provided to children in care. This position maintains all clerical and clinical documentation in compliance with NY State and City regulations.
Responsibilities
- Schedule psychiatric and psychological evaluations
- Schedule meetings with FP and BP to discuss evaluation results
- Track all supportive housing evaluations
- Follow up with providers regarding medication management appointments, consents, overrides, concurrent reviews, etc.
- Schedule missed medication management appointments
- Aid in team scheduling for Mental Health Intakes/Reassessments
- Update the EMR with provider information for new admissions
- Upload reports to EMR (Psychiatric and others)
- Ensure that updated insurance information is obtained for children discharged from care (who continue receiving services post-discharge)
- Ensure that children are referred to outside providers on a timely manner
- Ensure that appropriate billing is completed for visits
- Oversee admission and discharges by alerting providers and documenting as needed in the EHR
- Track MH re-assessments
- Support BH staff in completing administrative tasks
- Other assignments
Requirements
- Associate’s degree
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Minimum of two years of work experience in the field of mental health or child welfare
- Spanish-speaking is a must
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Compliance with: Required background checks, including: NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse/Maltreatment, NYS Sex Offender Registry, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services fingerprinting, NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List, NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List. Mandated reporter training. Applicable provisions of the NYS Education Law with respect to hiring and retaining of licensed professionals.
Pay
$21.97/hr to $25.82 /hr
