Bilingual Physical Therapy Aide/Tech

Responsibilities

• Assist in and perform patient transfers and lifts using proper body mechanics, according to standard techniques.
• Absorb and perform evaluations/treatments at the bedside and the rehabilitation gym (i.e., exercises, mat activities, orthosis fabrication, modality preparation).
• Report treatment activities, patient progress, and any unusual response to treatment or incident to the therapist.
• Maintain a neat/tidy appearance in all areas of the department, returning equipment/ supplies to designated areas.
• Regularly sanitize exercise equipment, mats, and assistive devices according to hospital safety and infection control standards.
• Evaluate and distribute linen supplies, changing linens on treatment tables according to procedures.
• Maintain medical supplies in all treatment areas.
• Sustain organization in the closets regularly.
• Sweep soiled utility and equipment rooms at least twice weekly for therapy equipment.
• Absorb and assist in department communication processes—answer telephones, transit messages from nursing service to the therapist, communicate between therapists, etc.
• Absorb and assist in the delivery, set-up, and clean-up of the treatment area (i.e., patient room, rehab gym, etc.) for patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and telephone skills.
• Good Computer skills with MS Office (MS Excel and Word).
• Must be Bilingual in Spanish.
• Experience as a Physical Therapy Aide in Outpatient settings is preferred but not required.

Pay

We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function and level. Final offer/contract amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skillset, work experience and languages, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The pay range for this position is: $19 - $22/hr.
