Bilingual Phlebotomist (Peekskill)

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections as required.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Wear appropriate attire.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Essential Skills

• 2-3 years of experience with drawing blood.
• Phlebotomy expertise with straight needle techniques.
• Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with infant and pediatric blood draws is a plus.

The Phlebotomist provides expertise in blood draws and specimen preparation. Their ability to put patients at ease and obtain sufficient samples with minimal discomfort to patients across a wide demographic is critical to our commitment to high-quality care for our patients and those of our partners.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peekskill, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Work Environment

This position offers two openings with the following schedules:

• Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm, with every other Saturday from 9am-1pm;
• Monday to Friday, 8am-1pm, with every Saturday from 9am-2pm and potential for additional hours.

The role provides an opportunity for candidates who enjoy a change of scenery and in-state travel. The position does not require work on holidays or during vacation periods.
