Bilingual Outpatient Therapist

About the role

El Futuro is the leading provider of behavioral health treatment to Latino families in North Carolina. Our mission is to nurture stronger familias to live out their dreams. We are currently hiring a full-time Bilingual Outpatient Therapist to provide direct services to individuals and families using an ethical, high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally informed approach.

Schedule and work arrangement

This hybrid position requires working a regular schedule of 37.5 hours per week across the Durham and Siler City clinics, with a minimum of 3 days on-site. Therapists must ensure 8 hours per week of client appointments are scheduled after 4:00pm and must be available for Friday morning meetings from 9:00–11:00am (mostly virtual).

Pay

The annual salary for this position starts at $55,000.00. Outpatient Therapists who provide therapy to children under 12 years of age receive a 10% salary increase. Additional compensation is available for full licensure status, providing supervision to interns or provisionally licensed Therapists, or for clinical program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide bilingual, culturally informed outpatient clinical services (individual and/or family psychotherapy) to adults, adolescents, and/or children
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing family issues, behavior patterns, and other personal concerns
• Collect information and data to determine the best use of treatment options
• Participate in walk-in screening and assessments within a walk-in clinic model
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical services, progress notes, recommendations, and therapeutic activities
• Complete timely and accurate billing notes
• Consult with counselors, doctors, staff, and community professionals to analyze cases and coordinate counseling services
• Create and maintain positive relationships with social service providers, counselors, assistants, and community leaders
• Contribute to the clinical team’s knowledge base of emerging and changing best practices
• Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita,” El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina
• Participate in meetings and organizational activities as directed by the supervisor
• Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work via participation in fundraising and other agency-wide activities

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or higher) in a field directly related to behavioral mental health care and treatment (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy)
• Eligibility to practice as a licensed mental health provider in North Carolina (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or Ph.D. in Psychology)
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment to a diverse community, particularly the Spanish-speaking community
• Clinical experience with adults; experience with children preferred
• Training in trauma-informed practices preferred

Skills and abilities

• Fluency in spoken Spanish; ability to read and communicate with clients in written Spanish and document clinical encounters in English
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail and organization
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong consultation, assessment, triage, crisis, and case management skills
