Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is a dedicated organization that makes a significant impact in helping individuals with mental health issues. The team is currently seeking a Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Mental Health Therapist, suitable for both newcomers and experienced professionals.

About the Role

Transitions serves adolescents and transition age youth (TAY) aged 15 to 25 with moderate to severe symptoms and impairments, assisting them as they transition into adulthood. Participants aged 21 to 24 must be eligible for adult Specialty Mental Health Services and require approval from Alameda County Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy
  • Performs individual and group rehabilitation
  • Comprehensive clinical case management
  • Medication support
  • Maintains caseload of children, youth, and young adults
  • Consults with other staff, programs, and agencies
  • Provides crisis intervention and related services

Requirements

  • Mental Health Therapist I: Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field; one year of internship experience in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting.
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field; two years of post-master’s experience in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting.

Qualifications

  • Mental Health Therapist I-II: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
  • Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master’s experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.

  • Pay Range: Mental Health Therapist I is between $70,304- $89,434.15 per year; Mental Health Therapist II is between $77,112 - $98,416.62 per year.

What You Will Do

Under administrative and clinical supervision (Mental Health Therapist I) or consultation and direction (Mental Health Therapist II), provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family therapy, routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of children, youth and/or young adult participants; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Mental Health Therapist I-II: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
  • Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master’s experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Mental Health Therapist I: Valid California Driver’s License, satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle; possession of a valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
