Bilingual Mental Health Therapist- Maryland

Backpack Healthcare · Baltimore, MD · 3 days ago
RemoteRemoteHealthcare$45–$65/hrPart-time

About the role

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults — all online, covered by most insurance. We're clinician-led and minority-owned, and we're growing fast across Illinois, particularly among Spanish-speaking families who've had too few options for too long. If you're a bilingual therapist who believes culturally responsive care isn't a bonus feature but the whole point — we want to talk.

Many of the families we serve want therapy in Spanish. We need clinicians who can show up for them.

What this role looks like

You'll carry a caseload of 15–36 sessions per week (you choose part-time or full-time) providing individual, family, and group therapy via telehealth. Most of our clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings (2–9 PM), with weekend availability a plus.

Day-to-day you'll:

  • Conduct intakes and build client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team — therapists, PMHNPs, and psychiatrists working together
  • Maintain timely documentation in our EHR
  • Support families with education and care coordination, not just the child in the room

What we offer

  • $45–$65/billable hour, based on license level
  • Medical, dental, and vision (full-time)
  • 401(k) with 3% company match
  • Paid time off
  • $300 annual CEU reimbursement
  • Free clinical supervision for LMSW/LPC roles
  • $25,000 company-paid life insurance
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Pathways to clinical leadership, including our Residency & Fellowship Program

What we're looking for

  • Active Maryland license: LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LMFT or LCSW-C
  • Experience with children, teens, and families
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish — strongly preferred, not just a nice-to-have
  • Grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice

Who we are

We've served 12,000+ kids and families since 2020. 78% of families report their child is doing better after three months of care. We're not perfect, but we're serious — about outcomes, about our clinicians, and about the communities we serve. When clinicians thrive, kids thrive. That's not a tagline. It's how we build.
