Bilingual Medical Receptionist

SFP Health Group is seeking an experienced Clinic Receptionist to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients and ensure complete and accurate information is obtained.
  • Manage the efficient operation of the front desk and reception function for the clinic.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to facilitate smooth clinic operations.
  • Answer and manage multiple phone lines, greeting and directing patients and visitors.
  • Collect and record payments such as co-pays or balances.
  • Handle heavy call traffic quickly and accurately on multi-line systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements.
  • Check in and check out patients, verifying insurance information.
  • Coordinate and schedule services for patients and providers.
  • Manage office supplies and monitor visitor access, issuing passes when required.
  • Receive, transfer, and file patient records, maintaining an organized system.
  • Verify and accurately enter patient demographic information into computer systems.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of medical background.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist (preferred).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology (1 year preferred).
  • Experience with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English preferred).

Skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in phone etiquette and computer software systems.
  • Team-oriented, professional, and courteous with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks quickly.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding (preferred).

Physical & Mental Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing.
  • Logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving.
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Occasional travel for clinic activities may be required.
