About the role
Working under the direction of physician/provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program
- One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred
- Current, nationally recognized Medical assistant Certification or Registration required or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of employment
- Basic computer literacy required
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- Good communication and customer service skills required
- Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines
- Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
- Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products
- EPIC Preferred
- Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent telephone and customer service skills
- Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed
- Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
- Strong attention to detail skills
