About the role

As a Human Resources Generalist at Rudolph Foods, you will cultivate our long-standing family-oriented culture while driving alignment with our core values: integrity, open and honest communication, personal accountability, and caring. This role serves as a liaison between employees and leadership, empowering leaders to engage all team members while delivering premium customer service. You will oversee HR, Safety, and training functions for our plant, actively participating in recruitment, employee relations, policy development, and compliance to support business growth and cultural continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior employee customer service and communication, embodying and promoting our core values: humility, caring, integrity, open and honest communication, and personal responsibility.
  • Lead and actively participate in recruitment, candidate selection, and onboarding to foster a positive culture aligned with company goals.
  • Handle employee relations, including grievances, conflicts, and discipline, while documenting all actions.
  • Perform candidate screenings, including background checks and drug screens.
  • Create, update, and manage employee policies and handbooks.
  • Prepare formal job descriptions and coach/train employees.
  • Communicate policies, programs, and benefits to employees.
  • Maintain personnel records, including hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Manage employee assignments, scheduling, terminations, and resignations, including notifications.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HR regulations, including legal reporting requirements.
  • Administer benefits programs such as health insurance, disability, vacation, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and workers’ compensation claims.
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons for employee separation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal and proprietary information.
  • Perform E-Verify and verify I-9 documentation.
  • Handle payroll tasks, including verifying time and attendance weekly.
  • Gather and communicate HR and Safety KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and collaborate with operations to enforce policy and culture guidelines.
  • Coordinate and guide Safety and Training personnel to meet expected standards.
  • Conduct and document safety meetings, and check SQSP idea boxes and doctor slip boxes daily.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, ergonomic standards, and safety requirements, including food safety regulations (HACCP, GMPs, AIB).
  • Promote internal career opportunities for employees with potential.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant work experience in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of HR and payroll operations, administration, and basic OSHA regulations in manufacturing.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Project management skills with strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Creative and innovative writing ability, including proofreading and editing for grammar and punctuation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and the ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
