Bilingual Early Learning Readiness Manager

NATURE AND SCOPE

The Bilingual (Spanish) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) Manager will lead and supervise the Early Learning Readiness program, focusing on nurturing children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise teaching team in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive learning environments.
• Provide support and supervision to teaching team to ensure implementation of individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Early Learning Standards.
• Lead and supervise teaching team in positive interactions between staff and children, including practicing positive behavior guidance, encouraging and modeling social behaviors, and responding to children's interests, needs, and abilities.
• Ensure all child school readiness data is collected, analyzed, and utilized to guide classroom instruction and program improvement.
• Monitor and report on progress toward program goals and objectives.
• Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate the performance of Teachers, Teaching Assistants, CDA’s, and Substitutes.
• Coach and mentor teaching staff in providing individualized, high-quality services.
• Address staff performance concerns in collaboration with the Center Operations Manager and Human Resources staff.
• Complete monthly classroom observations and provide specific feedback to improve teaching and learning.
• Identify staff training needs and assist in planning and implementing in-service programs.
• Support teaching staff in conducting accurate and timely developmental assessments on children.
• Hold regular staff meetings and disseminate information, share best practices, and gather feedback.
• Maintain compliance with program standards and policies, and submit monthly and annual reports.
• Create and supervise program delivery schedules, ensuring daily tasks are carried out.
• Plan and implement program evaluations and outcomes measurements.
• Drive the Y program van to and from program sites daily.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down learning environments and equipment.
• Stay updated on early learning program issues and drive learning activities and curriculum planning.
• Maintain branch and association certifications in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation, and emergency procedures.
• Handle incident/accident paperwork.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
• High school diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience OR CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate and 3+ years OR bachelor’s degree in education and 2+ years working with children 0-5
• 1+ year supervisory experience
• At least 21 years of age
• Able to drive a cargo van and travel to multiple locations within a 30-mile radius of the central office location
• Able to travel daily to multiple sites in the community, including setting up and breaking down 15 learning centers at each location
• A working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, data base management
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem solve, and manage time effectively
• Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
• Pass a Motor Vehicles Record and have own transportation
• CPR within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
• 5+ years progressive experience working with children ages 0-5
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
