Bilingual Early Learning Manager

About the role

The Bilingual (Spanish) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) Manager will plan, deliver, and supervise the association’s Early Learning Readiness program. This role focuses on improving the social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and general well-being of children and their adult caregivers under the leadership of the Director of Strategic Initiatives. The manager works directly with ELR Facilitators in the planning and delivery process.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the teaching team in creating and implementing developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive learning environments that nurture children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Provide support and supervision to ensure implementation of individualized, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with Early Learning Standards.
• Model and encourage positive interactions between staff and children, including positive behavior guidance and responsiveness to children’s interests, needs, and abilities.
• Ensure all child school readiness data is collected, analyzed, and used to guide classroom instruction and continuous program improvement.
• Monitor and report on progress toward the program’s goals and objectives.
• Recruit, select, supervise, and evaluate the performance of Teachers, Teaching Assistants, CDAs, and Substitutes.
• Serve as a coach and mentor to teaching staff, addressing performance concerns in collaboration with the Center Operations Manager and Human Resources.
• Conduct monthly classroom observations and provide specific feedback to improve teaching and learning quality.
• Identify staff training needs and assist in planning and implementing staff development workshops and in-service programs.
• Support teaching staff in completing accurate and timely comprehensive developmental assessments on children.
• Hold regular staff meetings (minimum of one per month) to share information, best practices, and feedback.
• Monitor assigned sites to ensure compliance with program standards, internal policies, and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate data for all sites and submit monthly and annual reports in a timely manner.
• Create program delivery schedules and supervise staff to ensure daily program tasks are carried out.
• Ensure all Early Learning Readiness programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
• Plan and implement program evaluations and outcomes measurements.
• Drive the Y program van to and from program sites daily as needed, including loading and unloading learning center equipment.
• Assist in setting up the learning environment with program equipment.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding Early Learning programs.
• Maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Metro Atlanta YMCA New Staff Orientation, Branch and off-site Emergency procedures, and any other required training.
• Maintain and report incident/accident paperwork.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• High school diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience OR CDA (Child Development Associate) Certificate and 3+ years OR bachelor’s degree in education and 2+ years working with children ages 0-5.
• 1+ years of supervisory experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be able to drive a cargo van and travel to multiple locations within a 30-mile radius of the central office location.
• Must be able to travel daily to multiple sites, including setting up and breaking down 15 learning centers at each location.
• Working knowledge of computers: MS Word, MS Excel, database management.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, problem-solve, and manage time effectively.
• Strong customer service skills and a personal commitment to service and hospitality.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check and have own transportation.
• CPR certification within 30 days of employment and maintained throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
• 5+ years of progressive experience working with children ages 0-5.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
