Bilingual Community Service Aide, Linkages to Learning

Coordinate services, events, and activities for a school-based mental health and social services program offered in collaboration with elementary and middle schools and the county’s Department of Health and Human Services in the Gaithersburg and Germantown school/community region. Assist in promoting mental and emotional wellness of students and families and self-sufficiency of families.

Schedule

This is a part-time position at 20 hours weekly. Ideal availability includes 4-hour shifts Monday-Friday or two full days and one half-day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate outreach/prevention programming and emotional and wellness services for parents/families within Linkages to Learning.
  • Plan psycho-educational and emotional support groups with assistance from the Linkages to Learning school team.
  • Plan, support, and implement special events for the team.
  • Public speaking and providing information/referral services.
  • Support the work of increasing family self-sufficiency by assisting the family care manager in obtaining community resources.
  • Coordinate with therapists, care managers, school staff, and community partners in providing comprehensive care.
  • Manage administrative office tasks, including maintaining office equipment/supplies.
  • Track client assistance/flex funds budget for the site team.
  • Train and supervise volunteers.
  • Orient new staff to site procedures.
  • Monitor attendance at activities.
  • Attend regular supervision and staff meetings with agency supervisor.
  • Attend monthly CSA and CSC meetings, collaborative and agency trainings, and retreats.
  • Staff at least one weekend agency outreach booth shift per year.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must demonstrate written and verbal fluency in English and Spanish.
  • A driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Desire to work with a diverse array of families and professionals.
  • Experience working within collaborative school-based models of service delivery is preferred.
  • Prior experience/equivalent knowledge of immigrant populations and acculturation issues, and thorough knowledge of community resources in Montgomery County is preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.66/hour minimum to $25.46/hour maximum. Pay is determined by years and level of related experience.
