About the role
EnCircle’s TransitionalFoster Care program is part of our Immigration and Refugee Services division. This program is in partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) and serves unaccompanied children in the custody of Office of Refugee Resettlement and are now living with foster families.
Responsibilities
- Provide casework and supportive services to unaccompanied immigrant children in the Transitional Foster Care program as part of a larger Immigration and Refugee Services division.
- Facilitate any family members identified or referred for potential sponsorship and assist with sponsorship applications as needed.
- Assess the needs of unaccompanied children in care, develop Individual Service Plans, screen for human trafficking concerns, facilitate the safe and timely release or discharge of children and youth, and document the provision of services in case files.
- Communicate with stakeholders in an effective and timely manner to ensure case continuity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and 1 year experience in case management with children and families; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields and at least 2 years of experience in case management with children and families; OR
- Master’s degree in social work or related field and 1 year experience in child welfare/case management.
- Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish required.
- Mature and stable judgment as well as sensitivity to various cultures and the unique history of unaccompanied minors.
- Trauma-informed training for serving immigrant or vulnerable populations preferred.
Qualifications
- Maintain a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work as acquired through a bachelor’s level degree or professional experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under stress or in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Computer literacy and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
Skills
- Knowledge of and adherence to federal, state program, and agency regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours and work independently within the field.

Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30pm. Year round.
