About the role
The Bike Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based at Waxhaw Cycles in Waxhaw, NC.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced bicycle repairs, including tune-ups, adjustments, part replacements, and safety inspections.
- Assemble new bikes.
- Diagnose mechanical issues.
- Recommend appropriate services.
- Ensure all work meets shop quality and safety standards.
- Assist customers with technical questions.
- Explain repair options.
- Support the sales team by preparing bikes for display and test rides.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on skills in Bicycle Repair and Bike Repair, with experience working on a variety of Bikes and Bicycle components.
- Effective Communication skills to explain technical issues clearly, interact with customers professionally, and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems, follow repair procedures, and use appropriate tools safely and accurately.
- Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and a customer-service mindset focused on delivering high-quality work.
- Previous experience in a bike shop or similar mechanical environment is a must, industry certifications or training are a plus.
- Able to stand for extended periods, lift and move bicycles and parts, and work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
