Job Overview
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a diverse team of Civil Laborers, Equipment Operators, SWPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention) Specialists, Security Personnel, and Safety Professionals for an upcoming Big Island job event. These roles will be crucial in supporting various construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient operations, environmental compliance, site security, and a safe working environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Civil Laborers:
- Perform a variety of manual labor tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying materials, and general site cleanup.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with tasks such as concrete pouring, pipe laying, and grading.
- Operate hand tools and power tools as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and instructions from supervisors.
- Equipment Operators:
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and lubrication of equipment.
- Adhere to project specifications and maintain grade and elevation as required.
- Communicate effectively with ground personnel and other operators.
- SWPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention) Specialists:
- Implement and maintain Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) on job sites.
- Inspect erosion control measures, including silt fences, wattles, and detention basins.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Document inspection findings, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
- Train and educate site personnel on SWPPP best practices.
- Security Personnel:
- Monitor and control access to job sites, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry.
- Respond to alarms and emergencies, contacting appropriate authorities as needed.
- Maintain detailed logs of incidents, visitors, and patrols.
- Safety Professionals:
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training and orientations to new and existing employees.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel adhere to safety policies.
Job Qualifications
- Civil Laborers:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in construction or manual labor roles is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform strenuous physical tasks.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
- Equipment Operators:
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment (specific equipment experience preferred).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required for certain roles.
- Certification or relevant training in equipment operation a plus.
- Strong understanding of equipment mechanics and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- SWPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention) Specialists:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- CESSWI, CPESC, or equivalent certification highly desirable.
- Proven experience in SWPPP implementation and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Security Personnel:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid security guard card or ability to obtain one.
- Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement preferred.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to de-escalate situations and respond effectively to emergencies.
- Safety Professionals:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field; CSP or CHST certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct engaging training sessions and incident investigations.
