About the role
Midcon Cables Company, a leading contract manufacturer of wire and cable harness solutions for the defense and aerospace industry, seeks a Cost and Bidding Technician. This position involves incorporating new methodologies, technologies, and training for employees to provide value-added solutions for simple and complex applications. The Cost and Bidding Tech works within a team to prepare cost estimates to assist management in generating new business and retaining existing customers.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a detailed analysis of project needs in materials pricing, labor performance, and other production requirements.
- Utilize drawings, blueprints, and possess a general knowledge of the manufacturing process to meet project needs.
- Be a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to accept directions and follow through with little supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills and an aptitude for excelling within the position.
- Interact with outside suppliers, other employees within the bidding scope, and occasionally with Management.
- Show good organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
- Maintain good attendance.
Requirements
- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, particularly the costing of components, is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Self-starter and self-motivated.
- Ability to accept directions and follow through with little supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good communication skills.
