Bible Teacher
About the role
Tyner Middle High Academy is seeking a dedicated teacher to join the HCS Bible Program. The ideal candidate will help students gain a broad appreciation of the Bible and its influence on culture, customs, and world history.
Responsibilities
Teach and learn deeply from the Tennessee state standards, establishing clear learning targets for every lesson.
Develop rigorous and aligned assessments and consistently implement instructional best practices.

Hold a bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 12 college/university credit hours in biblical studies (excluding coursework in biblical languages, doctrine, theology, worldview, and ethics).
For middle school teaching candidates, a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification with an endorsement in a middle grades academic content area, Bible, English (6-12), or history (6-12) is required.
For high school teaching candidates, a valid state of Tennessee teaching certification with an endorsement in Bible, English, or history (or willingness to pursue certification as a job-embedded licensure candidate) is required.
If you hold a teaching license in another state, you must apply for a Tennessee teaching license.
Pay
Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience. The Differentiated Compensation Plan may apply to designated schools and hard-to-staff positions. Please see here for more details.
