BI Engineer
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports that support business decision-making and operational reporting.
- Translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions, including metrics, KPIs, drill paths, filters, and user-friendly visualizations.
- Develop and maintain analytical logic and DAX calculations that align to approved business definitions and reporting standards.
- Partner with Data Architect and Data Engineer to consume curated, BI-ready data models and validate data grain, keys, and source-to-report alignment.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across dashboards and published metrics.
- Optimize report and model performance through effective design patterns, efficient calculations, and ongoing tuning of data consumption approaches.
- Support dataset security, report access, and role-based consumption patterns in coordination with governance and control requirements.
- Document reports, metrics, assumptions, and usage guidance to improve transparency, supportability, and self-service adoption.
- Participate in change management, release processes, and ongoing enhancement of enterprise reporting standards and BI best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in designing and supporting Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports in a production environment.
- Strong proficiency in data modeling and report design principles with an emphasis on usability, accuracy, and performance.
- Ability to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience validating data quality and reconciling metrics across source systems, curated data sets, and reporting outputs.

Compensation & Benefits
The typical annual base pay range for this role is between $94,500 - $120,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
