Key Responsibilities
- Cook up transportation schedules and routes to ensure timely arrival and departure for clients.
- Provide transportation services using company vehicles or coordinating alternative transportation options as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including mileage, pick-up, and drop-off times.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of clients during transportation, including assisting individuals with mobility challenges or special needs.
- Communicate effectively with clients, treatment providers, and other team members to coordinate transportation logistics and address any concerns or special requirements.
- Follow all relevant safety protocols and procedures, including vehicle maintenance and adherence to traffic laws.
- Provide assistance and support to clients as needed during transportation, including emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and client-centered approach to transportation services.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance transportation skills and knowledge of behavioral health issues.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or training in transportation or behavioral health is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Experience working in transportation or a related field, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting, is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations, are essential.
- A compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals with behavioral health needs is required.
- The ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations, with strong problem-solving skills, is necessary.
- Knowledge of local transportation resources and regulations is important.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards is crucial.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to [45] pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed to assist clients.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
