BH Clinician Licensed - Beh Health Young Adult

Job Summary

Captures and oversees the plan of care and service delivery for behavioral health consumers across the continuum of illness; promotes effective utilization and monitoring of health care resources; collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Details of the position

• Provides individual, family, group and multi-family group therapy to patients with complex diagnostic presentations and treatment needs.
• Provides clinical leadership to team of masters’ and bachelors’ level clinical and student interns.
• Affirms and implements a comprehensive plan of care through an interdisciplinary team process in conjunction with the patient and their self-identified natural supports.
• Evaluates and provides interventions to improve a patient’s cognitive, social, vocational, spiritual, and emotional functioning, utilizing natural and community supports when possible.
• Performs urgent/crisis evaluations, interventions, and safety planning.
• Together with consumer and natural supports, identifies key problems, strengths and resources to be addressed in the treatment plan.
• May provide case management, coordination with other treatment agencies or outside support services, outreach and engagement.

What you bring

• Master's Degree Required: Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Minimum of 3 years Required: Experience in behavioral health and Experience in diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex mental health conditions.
• Preferred: Experience provided clinical supervision to bachelors’ and masters’ level clinicians.
• Licensed Professional Counselor - Oregon for jobs based in Oregon or Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Oregon for jobs based in Oregon or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist-Oregon for jobs based in Oregon and.
• Upon Hire: Basic Life Support Skills.
• Interpersonal skills to obtain and interpret information appropriate to patients’ needs and age as required for assessment range of treatment, and patient care.
• Proficiency with DSM-5 diagnoses and best practice treatment interventions for a variety of behavioral health conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment.
• Knowledge and adherence to Social Work Code of Ethics.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and documenting in electronic medical records.
• Effective prioritization skills.

• Oregon West Network - BHS Young Adult Hub: Responsible for community education and marketing of Young Adult Hub and EASA programs to community partners, referents, families, grant sponsors and other State entities.
• QMHP required.
• CADC preferred.
• Valid Oregon Driver’s license required.
• Strong consumer engagement skills, working with young adults, ages 13-30.
• Ability to work in clinic, community, and home settings.
• Ability to supervise CSWA’s towards licensure preferred.

Additional details about the role in Beh Health Young Adult

• Individual therapist responsible primarily for supporting young people and their families in the EASA program who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
• In addition to key responsibilities in the EASA program, can hold a case load of “outpatient” individual clients within the age range that are not specific to the experience of psychosis.
• Receive initial and ongoing training and education on the experience of psychosis, appropriate care models, and other relevant topics that support the team in maintaining evidence informed care.
• Must be willing to take after hours call as needed (frequency differs but tends to be 8-10 weeks throughout the year).
• After hours call runs 1 week at a time and compensated at a specific “on call” rate in addition to normal working hours.
• Regular supervision to support skill development and clinic function (regardless of license or license type).
• Opportunities to engage in community education and marketing of Young Adult EASA programs to community partners, referents, families, grant sponsors, and other State entities.
• Opportunity to create therapy and/or activity groups for participants.

• Lift/Carry: Occasionally up to 5 lbs.
• Environmental Conditions: Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
• Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting or in office environment.
• Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
