About the role
The Beverage Supervisor I, under the direction of the Beverage Supervisor II or Beverage Manager, is responsible for supervising day-to-day activities in the Bar and Beverage Department. The position is responsible for guest relations, inventory maintenance and records, supervision of team members and monitoring of department costs.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with staff to maintain a high level of customer service.
- Schedule staff, assigns duties, and assign rotations.
- Stock, rotate, and order inventory.
- Supervise staff and assists with administering disciplinary action under the direction of the Beverage Manager and resolves team member issues.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Aids in evaluating operational procedures, recommending changes, and implementing approved changes when necessary.
- Aids in the creation and promotion of new bar specials.
- Train new staff.
- Aid the Beverage Manager with timekeeping, leave approvals, and payroll functions.
- Balance shift paperwork.
- Utilize reports in order to control labor.
- Document inventory, transfer, and waste product.
Additional responsibilities
- Comply with Company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Act as a fill-in for subordinates as needed.
- Attend meetings as needed.

Physical requirements
- Position medium with lifting of 50 pounds maximum and frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds.
- Physical factors include constant standing, walking, manual handling, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent carrying, stooping, reaching, typing, bending; occasional sitting, lifting/pushing/pulling, climbing, kneeling and crawling.
- Working conditions include constant exposure to noise, vibration, air quality and occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold and wet/humidity.
- Potential hazards include constant client contact, frequent computer and equipment use, and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, electric shock, high exposed places, chemicals, insecticides and infectious exposure.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate Degree in Food Services or Hospitality related field preferred.
- Experience: Three years of experience in a restaurant or bar service industry required.
- Certification/License: Will be required to have/complete TIPS training upon hire. Must undergo a Criminal investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have knowledge of and be able to operate or learn to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Knowledge and ability to use word processing, spreadsheet or data base software preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with supervisory personnel, subordinates, coworkers and the general public.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly in person and in writing.
- Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations.
- Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Native American preferred.
