Description

Be A Mentor is looking for caring, trusted adults to mentor the youth in our community. Young people are more at risk of dropping out of high school, drug use, entering the juvenile justice system now more than ever and we need your help to make a positive change in their lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and advocacy for the youth in your community.
• Spend at least 1 hour a week with your mentee.
• Engage in various activities such as homework help, outdoor play, museum visits, crafts, etc., based on what suits you and your mentee.

Requirements

This is an IN PERSON mentoring opportunity and you could be matched with a youth anywhere near Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond, etc. Mentors must be available to meet in person with their mentees.

Qualifications

Passion to walk with the youth towards success is essential. No specific qualifications are required beyond the desire to make a difference.

Skills

Open-mindedness, patience, and a willingness to listen and support young people are key skills needed for this role.
