Bentley/Microstation – CAD Technician

About the role

AECOM is seeking a skilled Bentley/Microstation – CAD Technician to join our team in New York. This role involves creating and modifying detailed technical drawings and 3D models using Open Building Designer software.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D CAD drawings and BIM models for various projects
• Interpret and translate engineering sketches, specifications, and calculations into detailed technical drawings
• Ensure all drawings and models comply with industry standards and regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design and development processes
• Maintain and organize digital drawing files and documentation
• Assist in creating bill of materials and parts lists
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input
• Troubleshoot and resolve CAD-related issues
• Stay updated on the latest CAD technologies and industry trends

Requirements

• Minimum requirements: HS + 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Preferred requirements: Associate's degree in CAD, Drafting, or a related field
• Good knowledge and experience with Open Building Designer
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Bentley/Microstation
• 5 years of experience as an Open Building Design modeler or in a similar role
• Additional proficiency in CAD software such AutoCAD, REVIT, SolidWorks, or similar platforms is a plus
• Strong skills in 3D modeling with the Bentley/Microstation Platform
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Experience with project management tools
• Understanding of design principles and processes
• Knowledge of material properties and specifications
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Qualifications

• Relevant CAD software certifications (preferred)
