We are looking for a Benefits Specialist to join a long-term contract opportunity in the Princeton, New Jersey area. This position will play a key role in supporting payroll and benefits operations, with a focus on accurate administration, compliance activities, and employee enrollment support.
Responsibilities
- Manage payroll tax administrator setup activities and help ensure required account configurations are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate with government agencies and external partners to address payroll tax matters, documentation requests, and account-related follow-up.
- Review payroll registers in detail to identify discrepancies, validate data accuracy, and support corrective actions when needed.
- Provide administrative support for benefits open enrollment, including processing updates and assisting with time-sensitive employee changes.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records within HR payroll systems while upholding data integrity and confidentiality.
- Use advanced Microsoft Excel functions to analyze payroll and benefits information, prepare reconciliations, and track project progress.
- Work independently across multiple payroll and HR administration assignments with minimal oversight while meeting deadlines.
- Support compliance-focused payroll and benefits activities by helping ensure processes align with applicable policies and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll, benefits administration, or a closely related HR operations role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now in a payroll and benefits environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, audit, and analyze detailed data sets.
- Working knowledge of payroll tax reporting processes and coordination with third-party administrators or government entities.
- Experience supporting benefits administration activities, including enrollment or open enrollment processing.
- High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive employee information responsibly.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple assignments, and contribute effectively with limited ramp-up time.
