We are looking for a detail-oriented Benefits & Payroll Administrator to support a contract assignment within the utilities and infrastructure sector in Houston, Texas. This role combines benefits administration with payroll support, ideal for someone who can manage sensitive employee information accurately and respond effectively to time-sensitive requests.
Responsibilities
- Compile and provide historical payroll information to support project and implementation-related requests.
- Process supplemental compensation and off-cycle payments with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and maintain payroll earning and deduction codes needed for ongoing setup and administration.
- Audit employee payroll details, including direct deposit instructions and tax withholding data, to help ensure correct payment processing.
- Administer core benefits activities, including enrollment support, coordination of benefit programs, and employee record updates.
- Assist with COBRA-related administration and help manage required documentation and communications.
- Support leave of absence tracking and coordination in alignment with company policies and applicable requirements.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve payroll and benefits discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
Requirements
- Experience supporting payroll administration, including off-cycle or supplemental payment processing.
- Working knowledge of benefits administration, benefits coordination, and employee support processes.
- Familiarity with COBRA administration and leave of absence case handling.
- Ability to review payroll data for accuracy, including deductions, direct deposit details, and tax information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential employee records responsibly.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and payroll or HR systems used for reporting and record maintenance.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a contract-based support role.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
