Benefits Enrollment Specialist

Seasonal/temporary, hourly, non-exempt, full-time position expected to last approximately 4 months (anticipated end date: January 1, 2027). Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and consult with individual health insurance consumers to help them understand available coverage options
  • Assist customers through the enrollment process with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy
  • Deliver proactive follow-up and ongoing support to enhance customer satisfaction and retention
  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal and external stakeholders, including employees, client decision makers, insurance carriers, and brokers
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in internal systems and CRM platforms
  • Contribute to Milliman’s service model by delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience
  • Use customer interactions and feedback to support retention strategies and continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent GED (education will be verified upon accepted offer)
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience
  • Health insurance industry experience in employee benefits and/or personal insurance strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in Customer Success, Customer Advocacy, Relationship Management, Account Management, or a similar customer-facing role preferred
  • Current Life & Health insurance license, or the ability to obtain one within a short timeframe
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional listening ability
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation and customer interactions
  • Strong technical aptitude, including comfort using CRM systems and other technology platforms
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive, with a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Passion for helping customers achieve the best possible outcomes

Work Environment

This position is fully in-office and based at the Milliman Omaha office. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Omaha, Nebraska on a full-time basis. The office is business casual and professional, located at 180th & Dodge, with approximately 75 collaborative team members.

Pay

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, and certifications. This role is non-exempt and overtime eligible, with production-based incentives:

  • Bookings: $40 for each fully completed and documented meeting (typically 45 minutes) to consult and educate on health insurance options
  • Applications:
    • 1–100 applications: $10 per application
    • 101–500 applications: $12 per application
    • 501–1000 applications: $15 per application
    • 1001+ applications: $18 per application
