Benefits Enrollment Specialist

About the role

Kids in Distress is seeking a Part‑time Benefits Enrollment Specialist to assist our diverse client population in Broward County with completing benefits enrollment applications and following up with referred clients. This position offers flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, and is ideal for someone with strong organizational and case‑management skills and experience interacting with benefits programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefits enrollment services for participants in their homes, virtually, at community meetings, and special events in Miami‑Dade County.
• Maintain participant files and submit monthly data and reports to the Coordinator.
• Collaborate with other staff to assist referred clients, enriching skills and knowledge of benefits.
• Attend benefit enrollment activities and meetings with funders as requested or in the manager’s absence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of related experience.
• Valid Florida driver’s license with reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
• Transportation available to visit clients in their homes.
• Background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Skills

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Computer literate with solid foundation in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience interacting with benefits programs or providing case‑management services (preferred).
• Experience working with databases (helpful).

Schedule

Part‑time position with flexible hours, including some evening and weekend shifts. Work locations include Broward County and Miami‑Dade County.
