Benefits Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main contact for employee benefits questions.
  • Manage medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA, and retirement benefits.
  • Process new hire enrollments, employee changes, and terminations.
  • Support annual open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain benefits information in HR systems.
  • Ensure 401(k) updates are accurately reflected in payroll.

Billing & Data Management

  • Reconcile monthly insurance carrier invoices.
  • Verify enrollment data accuracy across HR, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and employee benefit issues.
  • Support retirement plan reporting and data audits.

Vendor & Leave Management

  • Work with insurance carriers, brokers, and benefits vendors.
  • Aid in leave of absence and disability benefits administration.
  • Manage benefit changes during employee leave periods.
  • Ensure compliance with COBRA and coverage continuation requirements.

Wellness Programs

  • Support employee wellness initiatives and campaigns.
  • Track participation and program results.
  • Manage wellness communications and rewards.
  • Participate in wellness committee activities.

Compliance

  • Support compliance with ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and retirement plan regulations.
  • Aid in audits, reporting, and required employee notices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of benefits administration experience
  • Experience supporting employee benefit programs
  • Knowledge of benefits billing reconciliation and enrollment audits
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Experience with HRIS and benefits management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience supporting multi-state or international employees is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Salary: $55,000+ (based on experience)
