About the role
Acts as an agent for assigned Producer accounts, including servicing and solicitation activities. Manages a book of business and directs the work of a service team. Expert in all benefit lines and funding mechanisms.
Responsibilities
- Manages all client-required services and maintains client relationships with no input from Producers.
- Manages a large-market book of business by directing employees on the service team.
- Receives and develops new business leads from Producers or identifies and develops cross-sell opportunities.
- Acts as the direct point of contact for the client from the time of lead.
- Serves as the lead representative for an assigned book of business.
- Participates in the team selling process, including finalist interviews and RFP responses.
- Prepares and presents renewal analysis to clients.
- Sells renewal business to existing clients and, where applicable, sells additional lines of coverage.
- Promotes other agency services to clients by preparing Producer Service Proposals.
- Provides analysis and recommendations concerning clients' existing coverages.
- Selects carriers for solicitation and negotiates benefit and premium considerations with carriers.
- Receives and responds to client inquiries, including benefit and claim questions and issues.
- Reviews client coverage contracts and amendments for accuracy.
- Manages and negotiates third-party vendor relationships and contracts on behalf of the client.
- Manages a dedicated service team.
- Serves as a technical expert, assisting department members to resolve complex issues.
- Creates new client sales opportunities.
- Handles collection of fees, reconciliation, and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of invoicing.
- Complies with agency management system data standards and ensures data integrity by entering and maintaining complete and accurate information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of related work experience.
- Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal.
- Valid Insurance License; requires in-depth knowledge of underwriting principles and market conditions.
