Benefits and Payroll Analyst

Annual salary range: $65,000 – $75,000.

About the role

The Benefits and Payroll Analyst functions as an analytics expert within the Benefits and Payroll Department. This position evaluates and analyzes benefit and payroll plans and programs, ensuring systems are set up correctly and data is transferred to outside vendors accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Administer benefit plans, including plan setup and monitoring, HRIS updates and uploads, carrier updates and uploads, data integrity, enrollments, terminations/COBRA, 401(k) administration, and billing.
• Assist with annual Open Enrollments: track enrollments, compile and audit data feed files, and work with vendors to ensure data accuracy and timely uploads/benefit card distribution.
• Maintain PPACA records, including annual creation of 1095-C and 1094-C forms in HRIS.
• Review and reconcile monthly benefit enrollments with invoices to ensure accuracy and timely payment processing.
• Conduct bi-weekly audits for payroll processing purposes.
• Complete Paid Time Off reconciliation each pay date to ensure balances are reflected correctly, including reporting to the accounting team for posting tax accrual purposes.
• Assist with payroll cash and tax account reconciliations.
• Provide bi-weekly reporting to management and other departments.
• Perform additional tasks as needed to support company goals.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with Benefits and Payroll.
• Ability to work with external customers and vendors.
• Dayforce experience preferred (primarily Benefit Administration).
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, data analysis, and reporting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills—accurate and courteous service to employees and management.
• Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
