About the role

At Building Blocks for Business, we make benefits enrollment feel less like a bureaucratic headache and more like a conversation. We're a growing enrollment firm that partners with employers to guide their employees through one of the most important decisions they make at work — and we do it with clarity, care, and real human support. This is a fully remote, 1099 independent contractor position. You'll have flexibility in how you work while contributing to a team that takes the enrollment experience seriously. You'll join a team that takes the enrollment experience seriously — for clients, for their employees, and for each other. Your work here directly impacts whether someone picks the right health plan for their family or leaves open enrollment confused and underinsured. That matters. Candidates are responsible for their own licensure, taxes, and applicable business expenses.

Responsibilities

• Lead virtual one-on-one consultations with employees to assess their needs and explain their benefit options clearly
• Facilitate enrollment through online BenAdmin platforms and troubleshoot issues as they come up
• Answer questions, resolve concerns, and follow up proactively — no one falls through the cracks on your watch
• Stay sharp on plan details, voluntary products, and relevant insurance regulations

Performance is measured by:

• Employee satisfaction with the enrollment experience
• Enrollment accuracy and turnaround time
• Client and broker relationship quality
• Responsiveness and follow-through

Requirements

• Active Life & Health insurance license — required
• Experience in benefits enrollment, benefits administration, or insurance customer service
• Familiarity with voluntary carriers (Colonial Life experience is a strong plus)
• Working knowledge of health, voluntary, and ancillary benefits

Skills

• The ability to explain complex coverage in plain language — no jargon, no confusion
• Proficiency with virtual communication tools and BenAdmin systems
• A genuine customer-first attitude and the professionalism to match
