Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, & retirement plans.
  • Ensure benefits are administered in accordance with plan documents, company policies, and legal requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer (vendors/employees) inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, claims, and enrollment.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, and HIPAA.
  • Lead the process of preparing/submitting required filings such as 5500s and other compliance documentation.
  • Assist with LOA processing/management, backing-up our LOA Benefits Program Manager.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, brokers, and carriers to resolve issues, improve service delivery, and renew benefit plans.
  • Affiliate with assigned vendors, lead the process of preparing/submitting required filings such as 5500s and other compliance documentation.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including system updates, communication materials, and employee and vendor support.
  • Maintain accurate records in the HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Assist vendor in the building/testing/implementation/monitoring file feeds with external vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA).
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing benefits in a multi-state environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
