Bench General Manager

About the role

As the General Manager at Buddy’s, you will have full responsibility for all departments of a Buddy’s unit, focusing on maximizing guest satisfaction and profit development. This role ensures high standards of customer service, product quality, and cleanliness while managing daily operations and staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all unit operations during scheduled shifts, including decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, and scheduling.
• Manage staff labor, monitor breaks, and ensure proper checkout and cash handling procedures.
• Conduct daily pre-shift briefings for staff on all scheduled shifts.
• Provide continuous direction to staff to ensure operational and procedural compliance.
• Complete all required manager accounting reports.
• Monitor and analyze unit sales and labor reports to identify operational opportunities.
• Create and implement plans to address departmental goals and store objectives.
• Supervise line checks to ensure accuracy throughout all shifts.
• Foster a positive work environment to maximize employee morale, productivity, and development.
• Maintain a safe work environment to reduce the risk of injuries and accidents.
• Oversee deliveries to confirm proper products and billing.
• Manage guest inquiries, concerns, and requests, including approving comps, promos, and credits.

Leadership Duties

• Assist with staff hiring, training, and scheduling.
• Ensure proper usage of communication tools such as pre-shifts, Red Book, evaluations, and documentation of conversations.
• Conduct employee reviews and evaluations.
• Provide employees with positive and constructive feedback and implement disciplinary action when necessary.
• Ensure all employees adhere to Buddy’s uniform policy and standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a general management role in a full-service restaurant.
• Proficient in leadership, communication, staff mentoring, development, and operational quality.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of employment law and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills.
• Solid computer skills.
