About the role
Buddy’s Pizza, the birthplace of Detroit-Style Pizza, is seeking a General Manager to oversee all operations of a Buddy’s unit. This role ensures high standards of customer service, product quality, and cleanliness while maximizing guest satisfaction and profit development. The General Manager will work a minimum of 5 days and 50 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all unit operations during scheduled shifts, including decision-making, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, and upholding standards.
- Manage staff labor, monitor breaks, and ensure proper checkout and cash handling procedures.
- Conduct daily pre-shift briefings for staff on all scheduled shifts.
- Provide continuous direction to staff to ensure operational and procedural measures are met.
- Complete all manager accounting reports as instructed.
- Monitor and analyze unit sales and labor reports to identify operational opportunities.
- Create and implement plans to address department areas and store goals.
- Supervise line checks for accuracy throughout all shifts.
- Foster a positive working environment to maximize employee morale, productivity, and development.
- Ensure a safe work environment to reduce the risk of injuries and accidents.
- Oversee deliveries to confirm proper products and billing results.
- Manage guest inquiries and concerns to promote a positive Buddy’s experience.
- Approve all unit comps, promos, credits, and guest requests.
Leadership Duties
- Assist with staff hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure proper usage of communication tools such as pre-shifts, Red Book, evaluations, and documented conversations.
- Conduct employee reviews and evaluations.
- Provide employees with positive and constructive feedback; implement disciplinary action when necessary.
- Ensure all employees adhere to Buddy’s uniform policy and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a general management role in a full-service restaurant.
- Proficiency in leadership, communication, staff mentoring & development, and quality of operations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of employment law and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills.
- Solid computer skills.
