About the role
The bellperson position is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to our guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. This role supports the operation by acting as the first point of contact for guests arriving at the property, assisting with luggage, and performing as an additional set of hands to support where needed.
Responsibilities
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Support the operation by escorting guests to rooms, assisting with luggage, and providing guests with knowledge of local area attractions, activities, and directions.
- Answer phone calls and assist guests accordingly.
- Assist with cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces, including lobby, hallways, elevators, and lobby restrooms.
- Ensure the bell cart is clean, well-maintained, and positioned in the lobby ready for use.
- Act as a lobby ambassador, greeting guests and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Notify management of any guest dissatisfaction.
- Assist with general front desk responsibilities, such as check-in or check-out procedures.
- Assist with restocking and tidying lobby coffee service.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Attend meetings/training as required by management.
Requirements
- Customer service experience preferred, but not required.
- Must display a friendly and warm disposition.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and maintain composure under pressure.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must communicate clearly and effectively listen to, understand, clarify, and resolve concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
Physical Demands
- Rotating schedules, including nights and weekends.
- Light work exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to be on your feet throughout the entire shift.
Pay
Hourly pay begins at $16/hour plus gratuities.
