About the Role

We are seeking a committed hospitality professional for the position of Overnight Butler at the Boston Harbor Hotel. This role is responsible for offering support through all aspects of Guest Services, including greeting and welcoming guests and patrons in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner while assisting with the transportation of luggage and providing Valet Services as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Work overnight shifts (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
  • Secure luggage from all incoming guests upon check-in; obtain room key and escort guests to their rooms.
  • Place luggage in respective areas in the guestroom (e.g., on luggage rack, in closet).
  • Assist all departing guests with luggage transport from guestroom to front entrance.
  • Familiarize guests with room amenities, including temperature control, remote-controlled television, mini bar, etc.
  • Inform guests of all hotel facilities, including hours of operation for restaurants, lounges, Health Club & Spa, and Gift Shop.
  • Ensure prompt and professional response to all guest requests for service.
  • Store and retrieve luggage from the bell closet as needed, logging all activity.
  • Deliver messages, mail, and miscellaneous items (e.g., flowers, packages, brochures, newspapers) to guestrooms, Banquet Rooms, or hotel offices as directed.
  • Maintain an accurate log of all pressing, shoe shines, and requests carried out during the shift.
  • Assist the Front Desk in delivering quick and efficient service to hotel guests.
  • Assist guests with directions and other information as needed.
  • Complete all other assignments, duties, and tasks as assigned by the Director of Guest Services, Concierge, and the Night Manager.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience, with a combination of previous Guest Services experience in a luxury environment preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to drive both standard and automatic vehicles.
  • Basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to understand requests and communicate with guests.
  • Ability to transport (pull, push) up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to various guest requests within short periods of time.
