Responsibilities
- Oversight and coordination of all bell desk operations, including guest arrivals, departures, luggage handling, transportation assistance, and exceptional service.
- Leadership, training, and supervision of a team of bell staff, ensuring they are well-groomed, knowledgeable, and committed to delivering exemplary service.
- Assignment of tasks and responsibilities to the bell staff for efficient coverage and timely assistance to guests.
- Maintenance of thorough knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, services, VIP guests, and local attractions to provide accurate information and recommendations to guests.
- Aid in check-in/check-out processes, including luggage handling, room assignments, and escorting guests to their rooms.
- Preparation of records, reports, and administrative duties related to bell desk operations as required.
- Creation of weekly schedules based on business demand.
- Scheduling and assignment of bell staff tasks.
- Coordination of group luggage requirements and processes.
- Preparation of work orders for equipment repairs and distribution to the engineering department.
- Greeting arriving guests and providing efficient luggage assistance, ensuring a seamless check-in experience.
- Escorting guests to their rooms, providing a brief orientation of room features, and assisting with any special requests.
- Management of the storage and retrieval of guest luggage with precision, maintaining accurate tracking and labeling for efficient service.
- Maintaining a polished, professional presence in the lobby, readily available to assist with guest inquiries or support the front desk team.
- Promptly and courteously delivering packages, amenities, and other requested items directly to guest rooms.
- Collaboration with front desk and concierge teams to ensure smooth communication regarding guest arrivals, special requests, and VIP needs.
- Ensuring the lobby, entryway, and luggage storage areas are clean, organized, and free from clutter.
- Performing additional tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work quickly and multi-task.
- Prior experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality-related certification is a plus.
- Work authorization in the United States.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours per shift.
- Ability to maneuver luggage carts weighing up to 200 pounds and lift and carry items up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in the basic English language.
- Flexible schedule required for AM and PM shifts.
